This baseline analysis was carried out thanks to the cooperation of UN Women and the Albanian Center for Economic Research (ACER). The analysis aims to contribute to addressing the gap in understanding the current situation of women leaders and women’s involvement in politics at the local level. ACER, with assistance from ASET, conducted the research over four months in 12 regions across Albania. The research also highlights that women’s right to political participation—as voters and candidates—is increasingly accepted in Albania.
