The growth and development of Albania’s agricultural sector during 1990-2000 reflect the country’s transition to a free market economy and society. Agriculture has been a significant driver of economic growth, outpacing other sectors, although debates persist regarding its precise contribution to GDP and overall economic development.

To analyze the challenges faced during this period and to shape future agricultural policies, the Agricultural University and the Albanian Center for Economic Research organized a conference titled “Albanian Agriculture in Transition: The Agricultural Policies of the Last Decade.” This book compiles the working papers presented at the conference, offering valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners in the agricultural field.
