On April 14, 2025, 30 civil society organizations (CSOs) from the Western Balkans—including 10 from Albania—gathered in Skopje for the regional event “Empowering Change: Anticorruption Advocacy and Policy Impact”, organized under the SELDI Small Grants Programme. The event focused on strengthening skills in advocacy, media communication, networking, and resource mobilization, and provided a platform to promote regional cooperation in the fight against corruption.
Through the SELDI programme, CSOs from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro were awarded grants to implement anti-corruption projects. These initiatives, set to run for 9 to 12 months, aim to actively involve citizens—especially youth and grassroots organizations—in promoting transparency and accountability.
The list of participating organizations includes:
- North Macedonia: ZMAI, ZIP Institute, Women’s Organization Veles, CYEM Gostivar, Multus Gevgelija, LOLI Foundation, YEF, Youth Council of Prilep, Vila Zora, and “All for Fair Trials” coalition.
