Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are increasingly being used across the Western Balkans to improve governance, enhance local services, and foster sustainable development.<\/p>\n

As part of this growing momentum, representatives from Albania, North Macedonia, and Serbia took part in a three-day study visit to Slovenia, exploring successful PPP models in sectors such as education, culture, and energy efficiency. Meetings with local authorities, institutions, and experts offered valuable perspectives on how transparent and well-structured partnerships can improve service delivery, strengthen accountability, and foster long-term community benefits.<\/p>\n

Beyond technical insights, the visit fostered regional dialogue and collaboration among participants, who exchanged perspectives on shared challenges and opportunities in advancing PPP frameworks within their countries. The discussions highlighted the importance of clear governance principles, strong institutional capacity, and open communication between stakeholders to ensure the long-term success of such initiatives. The study visit also served as an inspiration for participants to adapt successful models to their local contexts. The lessons gained will help strengthen capacities in project preparation, financial structuring, and monitoring, ensuring that PPPs across the Western Balkans remain transparent, efficient, and socially responsible.<\/p>\n

Supported by the Smartbalkans program and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this exchange reaffirmed the importance of learning from best practices to strengthen regional collaboration and build smarter, more resilient communities.<\/p>\n
