Albanian Centre for Economic Research is the first Albanian independent non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1992. ACER is highly dedicated to foster and accelerate Albania’s socio-economic transition and development. ACER’s philosophy is building bridges between scholars, policy-makers and public opinion and fostering the dialogue in the interest of an accelerated reform process, economic development and prosperity.
The rich experience of the Albanian Center for Economic Research, through different evolutions of the country since 1992, has formed its institutional personality today – a truly interdisciplinary public policy institute with a sound reputation for its reliable research data and independent professional analysis of the major aspects of Albania’s transition to democracy and market economy.
ACER’s multidisciplinary expertise and versatile staff permit the implementation of research studies, surveys and training activities adaptable to a broad range of needs while assessing the social – economic developments of the country. Since 1994, ACER is officially the publisher of the economic quarterly journal entitled “Albanian Socio-Economic Review” (in Albanian), and up to date more than 400 articles on economic, social, legal topics and various policy areas, etc., written by scholars, senior economists, bankers, etc. are published on it.
